Hi, can anyone share their thoughts on this school as we are considering it for senior school.

From what I've heard: excellent academics but most girls are tutored. Lots of pastoral issues. Clic parents.

Hey, my DD is in South Hampstead and honestly she loves it. She wasn’t heavily tutor she studied an and only had a tutor for maths in September … So before her exams by 3 months in fact however, I didn’t put it in English Teacher as discovered that her English isn’t a strong as I would want it to be (bilingual) but she did well and she’s happy and thriving. Didn’t feel the clicky vibe.
honestly, we haven’t had any pastoral issues. She’s been very welcome.
I was the one who was nervous for her, but she’s made a really good friends and she has a great support system within the school. Having said that she’s in year seven and I don’t know what happens later on but so far no complaints of my end.

We absolutely loved SHHS. It bought out the best of our DD during her time there. She was well looked after pastorally as well as academically.
Couldn't rate it highly enough.

By any chance, do you know when is the place holder day?

London3WingPrayer · 16/02/2026 13:35

Another very happy parent here! And among my DD1 and her friends, no one is being tutored. They are flying high academically, big focus on oracy. 'Joyful learning' seems to be the motto. Music extra-curricular offering is top notch. Couldn't be happier.

Weds 25th is offer holders event. Imagine there will then be movement in the waiting list.

EY06 · 16/02/2026 16:44

We are on the waiting list and hoping for the movement.

NWMumofDD · 01/03/2026 13:11

If I may ask, what did you finally decide?

HellybellyMelly · 01/03/2026 18:25

@NWMumofDD our decision was for 2027 entry. We will try as local but feedback ive heard from parents who have visited is its very much a Sephora type of girl there so im not sure if it will be a good fit for mine.

A Sephora type of girl? That seems like a pretty rude and silly thing to say.

@Bored123 yes, im going to visit to see for myself but three sets of parents i know who have been, haven't had the best impression. I have met a couple of parents with kids there who say there is a lot of tutoring going on but i assume its the same everywhere in North London. That said, they are up there in the league tables so that's a huge draw.

Definitely not Sephora type of girl-
all school private tutor their kids ( I’m not there yet) but that’s because they are going GCSE..

mjuww · 02/03/2026 13:03

Had emails and calls today from the school trying to push me for an answer. Quite annoying just how pushy they are tbh.

EY06 · 02/03/2026 19:39

they just called me to offer a place. Have you decided?

mjuww · 02/03/2026 20:38

Yes. We accepted Godolphin and released SHHS and Notting Hill in the last hour.
