Any welsh yr 10 doing gcse foundation chemistry /science please? advice please.

Ok dd is doing a foundation paper in gcse science which includes biology physics and chemistry next week.
Does anyone know any good websites for revision apart from bbc bitesize ?
ALSOcan anyone tell me how it all works-does she have to do well in all 3 to obtain a c or can she get say 90 % in Biology and 80 in Chem and 40 in Phy and still pass ?

I'm not teaching the Welsh board, so I can't comment on the details. But for us the marks average out. Plus, any marks that she gets over the C grade boundary for a module are 'In the pot' in case she messes up another module IYSWIM.

Doing foundation she is limited to a C , but she is probably more sure of getting a C on this level than at higher

I did foundation maths and I know you had to get around 75% for each paper to pass Soooo failed that one.

Which exam board is she doing?

I am doing Edexcel 360, and everything they do over the year adds up. The June exam is no different from the March one, and in addition to that type of exam, there are others that they sit during lessons. Also with this course, they are not limited to choosing Foundation or Higher - they can decide when they see the paper (this is the multiple choice one), which they want to do.

There are loads of revision sites, but the BBC one is particularly good as it is targeted for the specific exam. For Chemistry, I like Doc Brown's site.

I think she actually comes out with a science gcse this time because in Wales they do quite a few in year 10.
