Hello,
We are very interested in Prendergast Hilly Fields for our daughter. We love what we have seen of the school so far but she is very sporty so wondering if it's a good fit. I would love to get more information on the sports offering. I saw they have Netball and Football teams that play against other schools. Do they train regularly and where do they train? Any info on this topic welcome. Thank you.

Football and netball take place once a week after school, as do other sports clubs. I think they all happen at the school - there is a playing field a minibus ride away but that's not been used by the school for a few years now. Cheer seems to be the sports club that gets mentioned most by those I know whose girls are at the school. It's run by an outside company but seems very popular with the sporty girls and does well at competitions.

Hi,
Thanks so much for your reply. I wonder why they stopped using the field? Do you know are the sporty girls typically happy at the school? The Cheer club sounds really good!

I'm not sure why the field stopped being used, it was still being used during 2021 so it wasn't a covid thing. They did used to get minibuses there so maybe it was related to that being a hassle... or the 20mph limits making everything take longer.

And yes, the sporty girls I know have been happy there. The school seems to have been supportive of various of them training and competing in sports other than the ones offered at school. For a secondary school it is quite small (and on a hilly site!) so probably doesn't offer the same range of sports clubs as a much larger school.
