DD2 is at the Brit School doing theatre in year 10. I am wondering about Sixth Form admissions as I understand her place is not guaranteed, which has me a bit worried.

Anyone with experience of this?

No experience but just to say I was desperate to go to the Brit school as a teen and was not allowed, so well done you letting her 😁 I now have a couple of singing students wanting to go and am living somewhat vicariously through them ha. Ask if the school can help??

Thank you; she was desperate to go there and unhappy in her all girls comprehensive. I am so glad she got a place as it suits her well. I hope she can stay until sixth form, or even do the Bridge course. She is certain she doesn’t want to do the normal office job so I hope she finds something in the arts or performance field; she probably needs a backup plan as they are competitive careers.

@Luckyrabbitears Hi, they normally take all the year 11 back to year 12 less the kids are not very good in year 10/11, trouble kids or kids they think it's not for them and she will have to do well at her audition very important. She will need to prepare her interviews very well and shows she really knows the meaning of Theatre and also perform her monologues very well.
My son was in year 11 Theatre in 2025, didn't do too well at his interview for post 16 (it was in the middle of the GCSE revisions...) knowing he was one of the best one in Theatre in year 10/11. They put him on the waiting list and he never gets a place at the end...

@Luckyrabbitears Make sure you apply somewhere else and do some researchin case she doesn't gets a place for year 12.
