How does the process work now re having to trial rest breaks. Do parents have to try that? Even if currently the child doesnt finish tests?
He is struggling in maths/english mostly.
He is in year 9 but we’ve been fobbed off since primary where he really was struggling to complete SATs. Didnt complete reading.

School need to organise it so it becomes their normal way of working in assessments and they can practice the best access arrangements for their needs ie. Extra time, rest breaks, scribe, laptop. The JCQ regulations have recently changed as to how such are requested, evidence required and authorised.

My DD has a ASD diagnoses and is in year 10, durinf her year 9 test week she got extra time and to do the tests in a smaller room than the large exam hall.. apparently this was dome to see how she got on and if she needs extra time as the school had to apply for it but we don't know the outcome

If this is the norm then you should def speak to the school

@LOttyered this is the link to the access arrangements information on the JCQ website. It’s good that you are investigating the options now.
