MPW London Easter Revision GCSEs

How have people found MPW Easter revision for GCSEs? It's for a student at a state school aiming to improve from 7s to 8/9s. Wondering if it will be pitched at the right level? My child doesn't always find it easy to focus so I thought it could be useful. However if it's low quality I really don't want to use up their limited revision time. Would love to hear from anyone with recent experience.

I’ve not heard of these nor used them but I had a quick look and noted that the GCSE courses are not board-specific, which would concern me tbh. My subject is MFL and while many schools do AQA, some do not, and the way the exams are structured, and the techniques needed to gain the highest mark, do differ from board to board. Yes French verbs are French verbs – but (just for example) how many do you need to use in your speaking assessment answers?

It may not be such an issue with other subjects as the work covered may be generic and similar and the exams may be structured in a very similar way – but I would interrogate this carefully if the board offered is not the one your DC is doing.

I can't find how much they cost on a cursory read of the website – is it a lot? Would a tutor be more cost-effective?

Thanks for the input. He would be doing science, which is exam board specific, and maths which isn't.
