Hi wondering if anyone has any experience with Heathfield 6th form please. My daughter is very interested in Art - specifically Fashion and or photography, Maths and Psychology.

She has also been dancing at a very high level since she was 5, I see they offer dance classes too - her favorite genre is Contemporary.

We are moving from USA state system so I know this will be very different experience for her but we are limited in school choices due to the fact she will not have GCSE results. She will be sitting the UKiset exams.

Thank you

I have heard locally that it is brilliant for fashion and art. No doubt dance will be very well supported, but I don’t know.

@floandbo75 Hi. My DD went there for 6th form but she’s 30 now! So I’m out of date in many ways! However this is my view.

DD got a B for art GCSE at another school. She liked art and was very disappointed with the teaching and lack of enthusiasm for art in her school. So we looked for better art and photography. Heathfield fitted the bill. Huge enthusiasm for art there and DD was fully engaged. They also had a fashion designer in residence and DD enjoyed fashion as part of her A level art. That was an old syllabus but the girls made clothes and did a fashion show. DDs creation was in Tatler! She went on to the LCF and now is an interior designer - so not working in fashion.

DD also danced. Did modern and ballet. Did tap until age 11. I would say her previous school was better for dance but you would need to check lessons and performance opportunities these days at Heathfield. Drama and dance at her previous school was excellent but dd moved for A levels and Art (A) and Photography (Astar) was a reflection of her ability - not the B at her previous school.

I cannot comment on the other subjects but go and have a look. They certainly knew how to enthuse girls about fashion and art.

hi, a bit late to this!

My daughter used to go to Heathfield, we had very poor experiences with this school. She is a very respectful girl, it wasn't her behaviour whatsoever.

I recommend to completely steer clear of this school, it provides no support for its pupils (academically and emotionally). Heathfield will absolutely go bankrupt in the near future, everyone is leaving..

The school brings no value in terms of grades or university placements, the girls that get the A*s and As dont get any help from the teachers and are independently studying, likewise to getting into a good university. Any choice you have will be better than this school.. They are good at fashion and art i'll say, but there are much better alternatives that dont compromise her grades etc. About dance, they virtually do not have any dance, their website is all for show. They have 0 funding for this, and nobody does any dance - not to mention how atrocious sports is too.

My daughter is currently at Heathfield in 6th Form taking art. The department is fantastic. Very high standard of art, photography and textiles. Staff are excellent, hard working, kind, supportive and add a personal touch. Have no knowledge or experience of dance offered.
