Anyone sitting the exam next week? We’re stressing as it is our number one choice and I keep hearing horror stories of over 1,000 kids sitting for it.

The queue was absolutely intimidating and the test had a more traditional feel to it according to my DD. But if your kid is prepared they'll do fine! Don't let the long queue overwhelm yourselves!

Im not but i did the rounds back in the day...
Albeit 30 yrs ago I sat soooo many though....
Henrietta Barnet, Habs, LCS, city of london, st pauls...
And it was wildly competitive then too. I saw girls crying coming out of exams...

The reality is there will be a large amount of children... some have be underprepared and have no hope, some will be real competition

You've done the prep now you just need your child going in calm and feeling confident.

Don't let your stress show - It doesnt help

Thank you! Are you happy with the school?

@TwoInARow2020 nope we chose a different school but LU was a very tempting contender as DD was offered a scholarship too. I loved the school's very liberal vibe and buzz! LU is a fantastic school.

The queue is completely crazy especially when you remember that they have loads of sessions throughout the day. I sent a picture to my husband as I couldn’t quite believe it!
But don’t let that worry you- my DC wasn’t fazed by it at all and they had already done an exam that morning at another school! The pupils have the day off so it will be calm once you get inside!
Good luck!

Don't feel intimidated. It certainly was queued around the block (and in two sittings). If your DC is right for the school, they will get in. I remember the long line and hearing lots of children who clearly knew each other. My DC just did their best and he got an offer. We didn't accept it in the end despite it being a brilliant offer as we went for another school that was closer to home with an equal offer. Many others will decline too for same reasons. LOts will be sitting multiple schools so they can only choose one.

It seems most of the schools have these same long lines for the exams. DS did them last year. Don't get intimidated by them. Many are sitting multiple schools. DS thought Latymer was the toughest exam and felt the interview did not go that well, but he still got an offer and is very happy there :)

Anyone had the interview today?
hows did your child felt it went?
