Mossbourne Victoria park academy

As a SEND mum, I feel that I absolutely have to make a post regarding Mossbourne Victoria Park Academy.

It’s very public knowledge of the current Independent Investigation that is happening at this school. I was forced to send my son here by the LA, the were also forced to accept him.

we didn’t even make it to the first half term break before I had to keep him home for them failing to implement Section F of his EHCP. I don’t mean they wasn’t implementing parts, I mean the WHOLE Section F.

I had had meetings with them where the Learning Trust were also in attendance and nothing changed. The Learning Trust also requested a meeting with their Senior Management, via email on 4th September which even to this day, they have no responded to.

whenever I have raised a concern with them, they have ignored my concerns and responded with their ‘policies!’

The situation has now got to the point that the Learning Trust are forcing a change of placement on his EHCP, not on my request.

They are completely undeterred from the investigation.

I’m a local parent with a SEND child (not secondary school age yet) and have been watching the MVPA story. I’m so sorry to hear about your experiences (although sadly not surprised). Do you know where your child will go now? Do you know when the investigation report into Mossbourne will be published?

I did not want him going to this school! 6 other schools refused him and it was days before the start of the summer holidays.

he’s had detentions for his disabilities
refusal of reasonable adjustments
ignored emails from the learning trust to arrange a meeting with senior management at the school
malicious social services referrals
refusal to provide breakdown of EHCP funding spending
regularly ask my son if he feels safe at home
womt even acknowledge my email, with photos about how my son was able to self harm in class without anyone noticing
haven’t implemented any part of section F of his EHCP

The list goes on and that’s just with in the first half of the school term!

Sorry I’ve only just seen this. Report came out and was pointless, MVPC gave a statement to the BBC but the email sent out said the exact opposite. I’ve had absolute hell with them. Even now. He’s still not in school!

the learning trust have agreed to a SEN school so waiting on consultation

Just wondering if any current Mossbourne parents have seen any changes at the school? DFE say they are working with the school to address the findings of the report (and the report from the barrister that the school commissioned) but I’m interested to hear if anything has shifted

Hi. Sorry I’ve only just seen this.

no, nothing has changed!! LA have provided us with a tutor, told MVPA they do not need to contact me anymore but they still call every morning and then refer me to SS for a safeguarding concern
