My child joined this year into y6 from an academic prep although we weren’t sure whether we should take the spot and do the 11+ for a more academic school we are so glad we took the spot as the school has been absolutely fantastic. It is early days but it is such a kind and caring School and the pastoral care for the year six cohort has been phenomenal. The teachers my child has based on the recent Parents evening were all wonderful an encouraging bar the Spanish Teacher and the level of detail in their assessment and reporting and feedback is honestly 2nd to none. I say this as I have two children at two other schools one at a very highly regarded West London coed and Emanuel so far is head and shoulders better in my view. It’s a school that’s clearly going places is absolutely set on listening to Parents and wanting feedback to be better and genuinely seems to like children which surprisingly isn’t a given in other schools. Looking at my child’s cohort there is a real mix of kids. I would say 50-50 split state and private but very high-level of ability in the cohort this year. regarding the exam I think their website is very comprehensive and the sample papers are very accurate. The interview was great. Quite standard really questions about yourself and the group exercise was fun for my DC. Good luck to your child. I do think they want to accept nice children quite different from quite a few of the other schools we’ve had experience of so that’s been a pleasant surprise.
