Tiffin boys 11+ prep advice

We are a few years off as my DS is only in yr 3 but I am starting to explore what might be the best way to support him to do the 11+ for tiffin.

He has older siblings who didn’t go down the 11+ route as really would not have been right for them and they are both at local state comps and very happy. My youngest however is very different, very academically strong and very competitive, also musically gifted and I see that tiffin have added a music aptitude test which I understand is new. His weak spot is most likely to be creative writing.

I am currently doing BONDS papers with him for yr 3, but this is really due to him not currently being very stretched at school. I will add he loves doing them! But beyond this I have seen Atom learning that uses an algorithm, is this worth paying for or would you suggest tutoring or both? Has anyone just used BONDS? Or BONDS online, we are only using the books.

I am happy with what we are doing currently but looking ahead I feel we will need to focus more on tiffin entrance. We are not applying for another grammars as I don’t want a crazy commute for him.

We had a tutor for y5 and used Atom in the last 6 months. Also the papers from exam paper plus are excellent.

Agree with PP, don’t need tutor until y5, if at all. Exam Paper plus are excellent simulation of the real thing. Atom is a good all round 11+ prep tool, but sounds like you are doing the right thing stretching with bond books. For the creative writing just make sure he continues to read as much as possible.
