Hi,
Context:
I have a highly anxious 12yo dd under CAMHS for phobia, OCD, self-harm... Suspected AuDHD. Not coping in secondary and missed most of Yr7 and now Yr8 going the same way. Tried independent, still too overwhelming. Worry that specialist will limit her academic potential. Has an EHCP with state mainstream secondary currently named, but no longer attending due to impact on mental and physical health.
Needs:
- Classes of between 8-12 would be okay; this is what she had during Covid and coped well (although it was her class and so she already knew everyone)
- Preferably live, but mixed is okay
- Time between lessons for movement breaks
- Needs social, in-person opportunities as well as she misses her friendships a lot
- Good range of subjects
- Excellent support for wellbeing, own personal mentor etc
Anyone happy to share their experiences - the good, the bad and the ugly. Want to make an informed decision 😊
