Habs, ucs, St Albans
Could anyone who’s son has recently sat these schools and been offered places let me know what atom scores they were getting in the lead up to the exams. My son is generally only getting 110-115 across the board (occasionally getting above this) but just did his GL’s and got 130 in English and maths and 132 in his Cat 4.
ive been advised he is capable and should be sitting the selective schools but the atoms are worrying me.

Hi we didn't sit these schools but my son was scoring the same and just got asked back to second stage at Highgate School.
I think the Atom scores are a bit 'off' whatever they say - I rate Atom a lot but HATE SAS scoring with a passion. Not helped as I know it can sometimes feel like you come onto Mumsnet and every child is apparently getting 130 Atom scores.
I think most kids, from what my son's tutor told me, are at average or just above, bearing in mind Atom's ervage is higher than most as generally only children using Atom (who can access or afford to pay for it) will be using it. I think a lot of Prep schools use it for example.

I agree. We haven’t sat ucs or St Albans yet but we have done habs and he’s been invited to second stage so must of done ok in the exam! Atom is a great tool but it sent me a bit mental!

My DS was averaging around 120 on Atom and scoring in a range of 100-132, and got an academic scholarship to St Albans.
If your DS has had a callback for Habs that’s a good sign for both Habs and St Albans - Habs is thought to be the harder or the two to get in, I guess because it’s usually higher in the academic league tables.
