my daughter has started sixth form 4 weeks ago and she did a test to see how she is doing in betec applied science and she got got 11out of 63 and now feels like such a failure she got the lowest in her class she is doing fine in both of her other classes

If it helps I got an E in my first biology exam for A level and still ended up with an overall B!

She needs the review the test and see what went wrong. It might be the way the questions were asked that she didn’t get. Practice papers are everything for these kind of exams.

Dust herself off, it’s only a month in.

No specific advice, but over on the Further Education there is a very friendly BTEC support thread you may like to join.

She needs to look at the test and work out if it was lack of understanding or lack of revision and go from there.
