Thanks both of you! Feels like a lot as there are sooo many going for it! Already got the after exams treat-snacks decided, so that’s something..!

We had one exam today. It finished before school lunch time, so I took my boy to the arcades then dropped him off after. Best surprise treat.

@Sausagedog123 unless it's changed the maths isn't all multiple choice. Some questions are, but others aren't. https://www.tiffinschool.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2024/05/Illustrative-questions-Maths.pdf. You can see how the answer sheet works here. For example if the answer was 943, there would be three columns of numbers from 0-9 and you have to mark off the right digit in each column.

From memory it was all multiple choice, but always remind your child to read and listen to all the instructions carefully as there's always the chance they can mix things up a bit.

For stage 2 I thought that maths would have longer questions and while you might fill in an answer sheet, your workings would be taken into account. There were still longer questions but my child says the invigilators said that workings would not be looked at! Just prepare them for any potential curveballs so if something unexpected happens that they are ok about it.

It does seem like there are tons of children there, but someone has to win the places - why not your child? And remember the waiting list also moves quite dramatically...

Best of luck!!

@Sausagedog123 Good luck to your son! Although there are lots of people, someone has to get in. My son is in year 7 there now and he is really loving it.

Sausagedog123 · 03/10/2025 10:29

Thanks both of you for your kind and supportive messages! :)

Unfortunately my son did not get through to stage 2. Good luck to everyone else. It was a massive turn out.

Sausagedog123 · 24/10/2025 10:07

I’m sorry to hear that - Wishing him and you all the best ❤️

Has anyone received stage 2 details? I understand they should have been sent yesterday. We didn’t receive it, and after emailing the admissions team early this morning haven’t had a response yet…

11PlusKnuckles · 06/11/2025 17:59

We just received the email now...

MunchkinJ · 06/11/2025 22:35

We got ours today also, phew!

Nushi21 · 10/11/2025 20:52

Anyone got through second stage?
