Catholic school admission experience?

I’m currently considering secondary schools for my son and wonder what experience people have of priests signing the supplementary forms. My son has had first holy communion and we attend mass very regularly. My husband is baptised Catholic but I am not, this means at mass I cannot take communion and I have a blessing only. The school do not ask about parents on any forms, but I wonder if the priest may be reluctant to sign the supporting form as im not a ‘full catholic’ (iykwim). Im hoping they’d be mainly worrying about the student being catholic? Any experience or advice would be great!

Read the admissions policy on their website? Ours wants a certificate of baptism but no priest note or anything about parents

Yes, I have. A supporting form needs to be signed by the priest, this is what I’m asking.

I don't see this being an issue. I am Catholic and was educated at Catholic schools but only my mom is Catholic and not my Dad. My Dad only ever attended church with us for the 'big occasions' like Christmas and Easter. I married a non Catholic and ultimately decided not to put a Catholic school as our first choice but we did have some Catholic schools listed further down our list in case we didn't get our first choice and the priest had no issue at all in signing the forms as it's about the child themselves who has already had the first sacraments. They may wish to know if plans are in place for confirmation?

There should be no problem with the priest signing the form, since you all attend mass regularly and he has had his holy communion. I worked in catholic schools and we had a number of families where only one parent was Catholic.

I know someone in the exact same position as you. The priest will def sign the form.
