Hi,

anyone have any input in secondary schools? Is QPCS any good? That is my closest school as I am close to Queen’s Park. I have also looked at schools like Paddington, Holland Park and Westminster academy. My daughter refuses to go to an all girls school.

From the names I am guessing London.
Would be helpful to put London and first part of postcode in the title.

First check to see which you are likely to actually get into by looking at admission criteria and last distance offered.

Then think about what is important to you rather than 'is XX any good' (good for what?)
. travel time
. behaviour policy, school ethos
. pastoral care
. SEN / pushing the brightest
. flexibility of options at GCSE
. specific extra curricular, (and who gets picked for things, only the best or B and C teams too, all in a school drama or only a few etc)
. results / ofsted rating

It seems to have a good reputation locally, it's our nearest one too and is heavily oversubscribed, check the admissions criteria as it prioritises a few feeder schools in the area, and only has a few spaces left for distance. Hopefully you are in one of the feeder schools.

Thanks, if it’s so oversubscribed what are the other good schools people go to locally? It doesn’t seem a big school. It’s hard to find their exam data as well. It’s not published as much as the other schools.

You can find school results here: https://www.compare-school-performance.service.gov.uk/ - you can select which school you like, find several and compare. Or compare the whole borough. It is a fairly big school i think?

As for other schools, i'm not sure, ask other local parents or see if there's a local facebook group. It really varies on where people live because a lot of schools are based on distance, though some go for faith schools, some private.

Search for schools, colleges and multi-academy trusts - Compare school and college performance data in England - GOV.UK

You can find schools and colleges in your area. You can also view exam and test results, financial details and Ofsted reports.
