You need to contact the local council, with proof of your address, child’s birth certificate, etc.
They will go through the availability of places. The best schools will be full, so you may have to accept a school and go on a waiting list.

You have to inform HMRC / DWP (not sure which it is now) about stopping your claim for Child Benefit.

Inform the school of the date you are leaving.
Provide the school with your new address
Once you are back in your home country , if applicable, provide information to your local authority in the UK and school she's left where she is enrolled at school in your country so that they can officially remove your child from their roll and offer the place to someone else.

Why do I have to give details about were we are going to live?

So that your child doesn't end up being listed as a 'child missing education' and proof of where you are now residing in case there is any query

So the reason for this is to check that the move is genuine and your child goes elsewhere. There have been cases where a child is taken out to "go to a new school" or "be home educated" and actually they have been taken out so that they can be abused and no one asks questions about their bruising or anything. Less horrifically, but also my dad who was an education advisor, would often find child who were taken out to be "home educated", maybe because school was being hard for them, and wouldn't really be educated. They would maybe sit around and watch TV all day or whatever. This isn't a knock at parents providing proper home education, many parents do it very well, but some really don't.

That makes sense... thank you

Schools have to know where a child has gone. It was brought in after Fred West murdered his daughter Heather and the school didn’t think that it was anything to do with them to see where she had gone.
