Nonsuch School Year 8 admission test format?

Hi, if a Year 8 or 9 place comes up at Nonsuch High School or Wallington High, anyone know what format the Maths/English tests take? Are they the same as the Year 7 tests but updated for Year 8/9 subjects? Anyone had any experience?

Did you find anything out about the y8 test?

My daughter did them a few years ago. From what I recall in year 8 they were a paper in each of Maths, English and Science, not multiple choice style more like stage 2 type test but at year 8 level. In year 9, which is when she got a place at Wallington, it was English and Maths tests only - again not multiple choice more stage 2 style but at year 9 level. English -the one at NonSuch was largely comprehension based so far as I recall, and the one at Wallington was creative writing I think. However I would have thought they change the format all the time so not sure how helpful this is. The email informing us of the test said what subjects they'd be tested in.

Thanks for the info. Glad your daughter got a Wallington place after persisting.

Do you know any other details like the number of children sitting the test, when it happened and how many places there were?

I know it's never going to be the same as it was when you experienced it.

It varied. So far as I can remember from a general impression (as I didn't count the numbers and we were not told the numbers attending) I think somewhere around 50 to 100 sat each test and there were between 2 and 5 spaces available each time.
