My son starts in year 10 in September. He is doing three separate sciences, can't remember what that’s called.

Can anyone recommend free or paid for science revision that your child has found useful. Some I have heard of, but no experience of using are, Cognito, Primrose Kitten and My GCSE science.

It would be great to hear some feedback of any of these if anyone has used them. .

Physicsandmathstutor is great for past papers and worked answers.

SmileySelina · 23/08/2025 18:52

Thank you both. He did like the cognito biology videos on youtube last year.
Physics and maths tutor definitely a great place for past papers.

Cognito is great, my freescience lessons also really good, some kids dislike because he is a bit “dull” ( their words) but he absolutely nails the spec and is really clear. Not a giant fan of primrose kitten, the malmsbury school videos are good for the required practicals. Physicsandmaths tutor for the past papers.

I assume you mean in English, but just in case your DS is in Welsh medium education some very clever sixth formers at our school set up a revision website for STEM subjects last year.

BBC Bitesize is also very good and spec specific.

Hi,

Try www.science-revision.co.uk, this is a free chemistry revision website, might help your son improve his confidence and grades in chemistry

Before you start, make absolutely sure you know what exam board and specification. It's probably AQA Biology, Chemistry and Physics and the specifications will be online.

Cognito is excellent.
PhysicsOnline has some free content and paid options.
BBC Bitesize
Freesciencelessons
And I second watching the Malmesbury school / scienceshorts required practical videos, but be aware there's not one way of doing these, so he might have used a different method in lesson.
