Wow, we requested 1 script yesterday morning but haven't received it yet.

different subjects or other papers for the same subject? Which exam board was it you heard from, and did you pay for priority? Our school didn’t give options for standard or priority services and it said 20 calendar days so I assume not priority! We are waiting on Edexcel and AQA.
Good luck!

There's no priority service for gcse

It was edexcel music. The other requested are all different subjects - for those where there are multiple papers we’ve just gone for one for now. They’re a mix of edexcel and OCR. Seems my DS has a knack for getting just 1 or 2 marks below a grade boundary 🙄

MrsHamlet · 22/08/2025 21:22

Ooh... I thought that was standard across all boards but I was incorrect.

Apologies - there is no priority review for GCSE with AQA. It exists at A level because of uni places.

Harsh for those who similarly are waiting on grades for 6th form/college acceptances though.
I wonder if examiners work over bank holiday weekends to get through the reviews?

I've just gone back to the JCQ regs and they refer to priority reviews only for A level. So it looks like Edexcel are an outlier.

Reviewers review from the date of results just as examiners examine from the first available marking date.

DS school have managed to get the eng lit script , read it and get the review application off in less than 24 hours - I am very impressed .

By any chance, anybody received 6 or more marks through review of marking for an English Language paper? 🙏

Anxiously awaiting 2 paper reviews here. They say 20 calendar days but has anyone heard really quickly yet?

Also waiting for 2- school have told us anything from a day to a week but as they were sent today earliest will be Tuesday.

Fee-paying school?

Eccle80 · 22/08/2025 23:00

Some schools are very fast! We filled in the form to give permission to access, but it sounded like it would be next week at least before we heard any more once they reviewed papers. They flagged two which were two marks off, and we have asked to see a paper that was much worse than expected and compared to his other paper

RhaenysRocks · 23/08/2025 06:57

DS did well at college, handled the enrollment alone, including swapping to a different level course which he's happy with and we saw the SEND team together. I do hope he accesses the support available. It will be hard having less oversight and just having to hope he's done the work set! Trying to find out what exam board the do for the maths resit was a dead end though.. he'll have to wait and ask his tutor 🙄

SuperSue77 · 23/08/2025 07:37

Can’t believe I am asking this, but do they get physical certificates? I’ve seen a few uni posts where people are stressing because they can’t find their GCSE certificates to upload to UCAS or to send to the university.

DD tells me they don’t and all she will have is the piece of paper school gave her on the day - but it looks as though anyone could reproduce that with whatever scores they liked! So I feel there must be something more official than that?

They get certificates. It takes a few weeks, even months (?) There's so much focus on the grades that certificates don't get mentioned much. Check with the school as they may post them and need your correct address.

Our get them in October in person if they stay at school or by post if not.

MrsHamlet · 23/08/2025 07:51

Certificates are issued after all of the Enquiries After Results are completed. So after the end of September.

Don't lose them - they're very expensive to replace!

SuperSue77 · 23/08/2025 08:03

Thanks @HWest1832 @Michele09 and @MrsHamlet I thought there should be, and assumed it would be a bit later, but DD was adamant there wouldn’t be!

She’s staying at the same school for sixth form so should be no issue getting the certificates. I still have all of mine from over 30 years ago, so hopeful we can keep these ones safe! DD is also extremely organised (unlike my younger 2!).

No !

Mycatismad · 23/08/2025 09:15

Daughters school are reviewing her biology, chemistry and statistics papers as she's 1/2 marks of the boundaries and then will send of if they think it's worth it . she's devastated over chemistry so I'd really hope they think they can find a mark.
She's into 6th form anyway and I'm hoping she's going to o start to feel proud of herself soon

TheyNotLikeUs · 23/08/2025 09:27

@MrsHamletwhen do schools publish their results. I'm interested to know how many got a 9 in a subject DD missed it on.

There's not a fixed schedule. We've published the top scores but the agreement locally is that all schools publish at the same time - so ours won't be out yet.

And they're not technically complete until EAR is complete, which is the end of September.
