Year 7 waiting list

Does anyone have any positive stories I could cling to regarding being on a waiting list and getting a place at the start of year 7? Please!

It’s a big school which expanded that year I believe (this was 9/10 years ago). I just looked up the pan & it says 420, but couldn’t swear this is what it was at the time
