Long shot, but can any current parents tell me how far away from the school they live?

We are looking at moving house to be nearer Bishops Wordsworth (we need to move anyway as outgrown our home!) but I don't want to pull my younger child out of her current primary school if we don't have to. We currently live the other side of Andover so a long way out of the published 'catchment area', but then I hear of boys commuting in from an hour away?

Following as I am also in this position. We live in Overton so can catch the train but I don’t know if there is any chance of getting in. I emailed the school for their last distance offered place but never got a reply.

I assume you have seen pages 7 and 8 of this: Admissions-entry-before-1-September-2026.pdf

Somewhere they should publish / or be able to provide 'last distance offered' info. Maybe ring the school in the new year?

This is the info for the girls grammar: Website-Some-useful-11-statistics-v2.pdf
which I might expect to be similar, maybe?

You'll know by now if your son has passed, but the last place offered last year was 30 miles, which is on the Wilts Council website. However, so many more sat the exam than in previous years (2022: 328, 2023: 363, 2024: 408, 2025: 550+); there may be more in the catchment area than in previous years.

Where did you find this? I’ve been looking for ages and emailed the school who said they weren’t required to publish that data so couldn’t share it.
