SGS mini school day

Anyone has a DS attending Sutton Grammar School next September? What should he expect? We are relatively new in the UK and need all the help we can get. General support to a new parent on what to expect and advice towards starting at SGS or high school in the UK please.

Please throw any tips, advice or information yoy have at me. Thank you

General:
School typically have 5 or 6 lessons daily, though so some have 3 very long ones.
Many school do a 2 week timetable so they have to keep track of whether it is week A or B.
Schools increasingly ban visibility of phones during the day.
Some schools are ridiculously strict on uniform and throw detentions out like confetti. Others are more sensible.
You may need to provide ingredients for food tech.
They may well use fingerprint recognition for paying for lunches.

Hopefully the parent info sessions answered most of your questions. I'd also recommend going to the sports induction day over the summer so your DS can spend a bit more time with his new classmates and feel more relaxed about September.
