St Clement Danes

We’re looking at potentially moving to Mill End - according to LOC rating quite a high number of kids in the area go to St Clement Danes. Does anyone know whether this would be based on distance or “11+” results? (Aware that they test NVR/maths in the consortium) - thanks

SCD is a partially selective school.
10% of its total yearly intake are academic places so they are based on the academic ability test scores (11+)

The rest are non selective so will depend on where you live, siblings attending the school already etc.

I think SCD also values music so there is a way for a child to essentially skip the queue if they show outstanding music ability, I don’t know how that’s judged though.

SCD are part of the South West Herts Consortium. If you google, you will see that they have an academic test and a music test for the whole consortium, and then each school has its own admissions rules for the percentage they accept.

Mill End children usually either qualify on distance for SDC, or for The Reach. It really depends where you live in Mill End, as it varies year to year. The school website will have the furthest distance for the last year, and the Eleven Plus Forum used to have this information as well.

SCD is more sought after than the Reach.

Huge thanks both - looks like we’re just outside the 1.7 miles away from SCD that they had admissions from last year 🤦🏻‍♀️
