Secondary Schools in Stroud

Hi, we are hoping to relocate to Stroud (just south of Stroud) and there are lots of great primaries for our Yr2 child, but I'm worried about the grammar system after that. I read that out of 3000 who sit the 11+ in Gloucestershire around 1000 get grammar places. I understand the grammars are excellent and great for academic students but what are the schools like for those who don't go to the grammar schools? Am finding it hard to get good info so would be very grateful to hear any experiences. Thank you.

My sons went to the Grammar but I don't think any of the secondaries are bad. I personally don't like Archway but I know others that do. It's very sporty. It depends on your child's strengths as to what would suit them.

Thomas Keble has a very good reputation but is the only one with a defined catchment area and it's quite a small catchment at that.

If you want a true comp covering all abilities, look at Rednock. It's just that little bit further away that many from the area don't bother with applying for the Grammar. KLB is also excellent.
