my es always found reading and writing very difficult. In his last Primary school, which he went to for 2 years, he finally started to really make some progress, but he had a lot of catching up to do!
Last night was his Parents evening, and all in all the teachers were all very positive and praised him for his work, etc...(only complain they had, was that sometimes he can get a bit chatty)....but the best news was, that, he caught up 18month in his reading since he started at secondary and with his spelling somethinbg like 12 month ( I think it was), and they believe that he will soon be able to join in the mainstream english class....for him it is such an achievement!
I had such worries that he would find it to hard and that that might mean he would be limited of what he can do once he is finished with school....but now, who knows anyhting seems possible...maybe he will be able to do an arts-or design degree afterall... (arts and design are his thing and he is really good at it, too...), well, if that is what he then wants to do...obviously he might decide not to stady further, etc...but it would be lovely if he had that choice.
Anyway a long ramble....but it is just so nice to come back from a parents evening feeling positive rather then depressed.
