Mine has a massssssive Jansport black backpack.

Longchamp Le Pliage tote bags are the go to around here! Pretty much every girl in DD’s school had a navy one.

troppibambini6 · 18/04/2025 23:06

Yep Le Pilage here too. Dd is Year 9 but has had hers since year 7.

Hercisback1 · 18/04/2025 23:09

This is very area dependant.

Not smiggle!

Tote/handbags. Backpacks, those Swedish kanken bags etc. my daughter is year 11 and has been using a cotton tote bag (like the body shop ones from the 90's) for the past two years. Seems like a big mixture at her school.

Plain black Nike rucksack or black new look /primark/ river island leather look tote bag.
Absolutely no variation from these here!

Depends on school and if carrying laptop so need space and protection, waterbottle on the side panel. Brands seen are Jansport, Eastpak, Nike, Longchamp tote on school trip.

TeenToTwenties · 19/04/2025 08:13

Your best bet is to pay attention to what the younger girls in your actual area are carrying.
Or failing that a very neutral bag to start September in and then see what is asked for.

It depends on the school. If I look at girls in the local area it seems it would be a handbag. Dd used a big Jansport one which is common with both boys and girls at her school. They are responsible for bringing their exercises books to school so nothing else but a decent sized backpack would fit all this.

ScrewtopRose · 20/04/2025 16:59

Mine started with a black fake leather tote from River Island and then moved on to my 10yr old Le Pliage bag.

Definitely.

DD’s school have free lockers though, so she doesn’t need to carry everything all of the time.

WhiskyandWater · 20/04/2025 18:13

Y8DD is on a black Nike rucksack, had a le pilage but it hurt her shoulder so now at the bottom of her wardrobe. Y7 DD getting a le pilage for birthday next week and would not heed the warning from older DD (nor would either agree to it passing down).

TheGriffle · 20/04/2025 18:15

What is your schools policy? Ours is plain black rucksack with minimal logo allowed. Dd and most of her friends have a large black Nike rucksack.
