Help with secondary admissions

Hi, for context we are in Hertfordshire. On allocation day we didn't get our first choice school, we got our 2nd. We accepted the offer but remained on the continuing interest list for the 1st choice school. Over the last few weeks our daughter has really come round to the idea of the 2nd place school and has made friends with others who are going there. We've just found out that we've been given a place at the 1st choice school in the second round, but turned it down as we want to stick with the 2nd choice. Having a slight panic attack that she now won't have a place at either. I'm hoping their original offer still stands??? It wasn't clear. So essentially the question is - will she still have the place at the 2nd choice school, the offer we originally accepted? 😳

It varies by local authority - some let you choose, some do replace your first offer. This page from Hertfordshire suggests you do get your previous offer withdrawn automatically there - suggest you call them tomorrow morning to clarify (and get back on the list for your now preferred school if needed).

The sensible people to ask being the school admissions team at Hertfordshire, rather than randoms on the Internet, but one of those randoms having come up with the information made available to parents up front, so to speak, have you been able to sort the situation out?
