Hi - does anyone have experience with Harris Westminster for A Levels? My son has a place but we are now nervous about enrolling in September as we have read some negative reviews. I'd be grateful for any information.

we also have a place. It looks great to me. Whats not to like?

The students with offers have formed a wahtsApp group. Maybe get your son onto that. My daughter is concerned that it might be a bit geeky. I am struggling to see any reason why they wouldnt go.

Thank you. Do you know how I can get details of the whatsapp group. I think it's a great idea for them to form friendships ahead of joining

I can get my children to add your daughter. (No parents). It's a big group but not sure how to do that and maintain privacy etc right now lots of chat about gcse revision...
I think the school is a no brain choice...

Of you haven't seen the website has a 2024 article in the Times about the school.

Yes please - that would be great. If you could please find out from your daughter how I can get my son to join the whatsapp group that would be really helpful. thanks again

What negatives have you heard please? I am all set to send my children there. I cant see any downside at all

Hi Traderbiff - i am so sorry I haven't responded to this message! The only negatives I have heard are that it's an intense environment in terms of academic pressure and very restrictive in terms of allowing the kids to go out at break times in the first year. Academically it's great as you know. My son still wants to go despite my reservations.

Hi, really don't think there's much of anything to worry about. If your son is keen that's fantastic. My daughter was not happy to change school.i think it will be great. My boy was at CLS. Turns out 3 boys from his year are going to Harris. They are super nice boys. Think Harris will be a mixture of nice, hard working kids from across the social spectrum. Private schools can be almost like a middle class ghetto. My sons best mate from a state comp is going too, he is very bright and focused. From friends whose kids went to dedicated sixth forms they are a step up in maturity, good bump on the way to university. If your son is happy to go. All good
