Archer Academy (N2) - waiting list

Hi,

Anyone in previous years been on the waiting list and received an offer before school starts in September? Would be interested to know how far down the waiting list would be reasonable to think we had a chance. At this stage (before confirmations/ rejections), we are number 28.

its difficult to say, Archer has quite a peculiar admissions policy, so the waiting list seems to vary from year to year by quite a lot, the school includes the affluent areas from where many candidates are likely to go private (like the "country roads" bit of East Finchley) but then its catchment also incldues some large housing estates from where poeple are likely to accept. This year's catchment has increased significantly (nearly doubled compared to the last few years), especially for N2 allocation. I know 2 people who applied but will drop the space. so good luck! out of interest which postcode did you apply from?

Yes, the distance this year for N2 residents almost doubled which is reassuring for us. We are in N2 so from what I understand, any residual spots after the main round offers will be offered to N2 (by distance). Fingers are crossed!
