Whitgift or Wimbledon College

Hi my son has these two offers and I am interested to hear views on Wimbledon College which although state seems to have good facilities and results. Considering taking my son there instead of Whitgift given the huge hike in fees. Anyone care to share their experience with WC plse. We have a deadline for 12pm tmw to accept WG. Left it late but we were expecting our first choice grammar school place which we didn't get as even though my son passed the test we are outside the catchment area. We plan to appeal but not sure what the chances will be with this so looking at Plan B. Thanks!

Hiya, I have no personal experience yet but hear good things about both schools from friends with children at both schools. I guess it depends if you are can and are willing to commit financially for the duration of time at Whitgift. What did you decide in the end? All the best for your child.

There's probably no point appealing over being out of catchment. Admissions criteria will be very clear on the school's website. It's not unusual for kids to pass the grammar exams, but not get a place.
