Y7 / KS3 maths app?

Looking for an online subscription for my 12yr old to give a bit of a boost with maths concepts like algebra. Can anyone recommend anything for Y7, I’m looking at Doodle Maths, Mathletics, The Maths Factor and IxL but want something that will explain the concept rather than just a list of questions to answer. Thanks!

Seneca is great, it's free and explains each concept before getting the pupil to have a go. It also tracks their progress so they can see where their weaker areas are.

DoodleMaths does start a new topic by explaining the concept and tests it until they are performing the task fluently. They have a traffic light system to explain what they can and can't do under each section of the syllabus.

My worry about doodle maths is that it's very good for primary kids but not sure how it will be for year 7 and beyond. My year 6 child is venturing into KS3 territory on some concepts so it's fairly good her - set at her level.

It might be worth getting them to work through the 70 lessons on Crack Maths. They cover the full Functional Skills Level 2 course. Everything in it also comes up in GCSE maths, but it’s a separate qualification equivalent to a grade 4/C, so it can be a really useful safety net. The lessons are clearly explained and give a solid grounding for GCSE.
