The wait is finally over!

Anyone received an offer for St Marylebone CE school?

We have and are really happy, although not local DD won’t have any friends from her current primary.

Any insight from those who already attend the school are very welcome!

My daughter got an offer and we're really happy. Her closest friends are on the waiting list so looks like she may be in same position but i'm sure they will make friends!

We got an offer but have declined it straight away, glad to make another family happy I hope! I didn't like the school at all - trying to think of a better way to describe it than 'unbearably woke', I know that's lame but it just gave off luxury belief vibes in a big way - and fully aware we are in the extremely lucky position of being able to take up a place at an independent school.

Congratulations! It's completely wonderful.

No chances for us for have any current friends - we live out of the area and she got in via music scholarship. I’m sure they will make friends in no time! So excited!!

What do you mean @Meowfoy? I didn't get that impression at all when we visited but I may have missed something.

We're looking for next year @BeProudPlumPoet but DD loved it when we went round.

I just got the feeling from talking to parents of current girls that there is a culture of very politicised teaching amongst some teachers - not all! - and you do not want to be on the ‘wrong’ side on many issues or you will be very sorry.

Again, most girls love the school and are super happy, and don’t have any problem going along with whatever the accepted wisdom is on any given issue.

But there’s some that feel there can be harsh consequences for dissent, I’ve heard of marking down from teachers, and of bullying and ostracism from other girls.

Again, just what I’ve heard and I’m sure others will feel completely different.

I can only go from our personal experience, Meowfoy, and don't recognise that picture you paint. It is definitely a think-for-yourself school and kind.

My DD will be starting in September. Can I ask you how did you find it? Academically? Pastoral? Or general feedback. Thank you so much!
