a warning about sexeys school

I sent my child (who was fresh into year 7 at the time) to Sexeys boarding school Full time boarding. At first she seemed to be doing fine and I was glad she was settling. Then after a few weeks she started acting weird, constantly trying to contact me and anybody who wasn't in the school and whenever she did she sounded relieved to speak to me and those other people. it struck funnily with me. why couldn't she just talk to the people at school? then after a month something was really off. whenever I picked her up she seemed so dull as if she never felt emotions anymore and she also begged to never go back, whilst still having a scarily blank face and tone. At the time i just assumed she was being weird and she just wasn't keen on school as any other child. I thought I was overthinking. I was very wrong. i knew i was wrong when she cried (still somehow emotionlessly) whenever she came home. Sexeys school has a bad bullying problem that needs to be sorted. The staff weren't helpful whatsoever although they did take her to a hospital for owning a notebook full of suicidal and homicidal thoughts. they also made her leave boarding for two days over it. No further action than that. I dread to imagine what my daughter has been through at this sorry excuse for a school. After a while of just seeing her become more sad, dull and quiet, I decided to pull her out of that craphole. please take this as a warning if you're considering sending your child to Sexeys in Somerset.

It sounds like you did the right thing pulling her out. Now the job of helping her heal and finding somewhere she can thrive.

Sounds like your dd told you she was unhappy and you passed it off as her being weird. If you didn't catch on how would the school have realised?? Why would they need to make her leave boarding? Surely you would want her home if she was writing suicidal abd homicidal comments in a note book? Your account sounds off.
