Living in Teddington, attending Ibstock

Hi everyone.
I'd appreciate some experiences from families who live in Teddington and have a child (or several) that goes to Ibstock Place School.
How is the commute? (Train and then shuttle - does it take very long?); Is it possible to cycle via Richmond Park?; Are there many kids from Teddington going to Ibstock?; When living in Teddington what other secondary schools do u consider?
I am trying to establish if this is a good option for us, or if the logistics are to complicated.
Thank you.

I don’t have kids there but my neighbour does. Biking wouldn’t be good in the winter and the amount of kit often makes if difficult. It’s doable but difficult I think. Also majority of other children will be from other areas so lifts, social events will be more difficult too.

There are many good schools that are easier to reach.

Thanks Happysandysummer.
Do you know which schools are in good reach from Teddington, state and private?

There are masses, Hampton, LEH, , KGS, Surbiton high, Radnor, St Catherine’s, to name but a few. Lots more in Wimbledon which is an easy journey. State, waldegrave, Teddington, grey court,

I was at an Ibstock offer holder day earlier this week and the child showing me around lives in Teddington. They didn’t seem bothered by the commute, they said they either get the train to Barnes and then the shuttle to the school or cycle through the park to school.

Also sir William Perkins in chertsey. They are changing their bus routes from September 2025 and will not go through Teddington

Depending on where you live in Teddington, the 33 (which picks up on Broad Street, outside Pizza Express and outside the university) stops at the bottom of Priory Lane. Maybe 10 mins walk up the hill to Ibstock from there?
