Channing senior school fees

I’ve got a slightly strange question. We’re lucky enough to have 11+ offers for my daughter at a number of great schools including Channing, SHHS and FHRP. We like Channing, my daughter has friends there, and are choosing between SHHS and Channing. There are lots of helpful comparisons on mumsnet already and the school sounds lovely.

But one thing that’s confusing me is fees! Channing seems to be more expensive, not just in fees but in extras too, and I’m not sure how I should feel about this.

We’re not super price-sensitive here - though it does make a difference to us. But I’m more concerned that if this is how I start feeling today, then what happens over the years! Does anyone have any context if they have girls at Channing?

The Girls' Day School Trust sets the fees for all their schools centrally, including SHHS, and they have always been lower than other schools such as G&L, Channing, LU or others of similar ilk. As the GDST says:

"As a family of schools, the GDST is in a unique position to leverage efficiencies across our network. Our schools benefit from cost savings through shared services and our centralised procurement team utilises our purchasing power as a group to negotiate further cost efficiencies."

My sister and I were at a GDST school when it was still GPDST and it's always been the same.
