Just got offers from both JAGS and PHS. Struggling about the choice…any insight? Thanks.

They are not particularly near each other so I’d go for the closer onE.

Edited to add, congrats to your DD!

DD got offers from both. We chose PHS as it was an easier journey. Scholarship offers for both.

DD went onto Oxford to study Medicine. Pretty sure JAGS would have suited her as well as PHS did..

We also have both offers and would like to know apart from the distance to school. Right now, we are in a "privileged" position that we have to move by the end of this academic year. So we can move closer to our preferred school.

Which area would you prefer to live in? Putney and Dulwich are not much alike.

DH likes Putney, but I don't know London very well to be honest. What would the main differences be between both areas?

I’m closer to Dulwich which has a very very suburban, almost villagey feel to bits of it.
I don’t know Putney hugely well but it’s much more “London”, though a very very nice bit, and you have the river right there.
Putney is also on the tube, depending on where you are in or around Dulwich, the train connections (no tube except for the overground at places like Peckham or Forest Hill) are fairly limited.
If your DH knows and likes Putney then I’d go for that.

If moving for PHS I'd be tempted to locate towards Wimbledon. Better transport links. We used to live in East Dulwich but I (personally) prefer Wimbledon because of the open spaces - Wimbledon Common and Richmond Park.

I lived in Putney for 35 years. We were very happy there. It helps hugely for DC to go to a local school especially if there are after school activities.

We looked at JAGs (dd is nearly 27!). We thought it had the edge on PHS/WHS but it wouldn't have been workable as we had another dc at school in Wimbledon.

We didn't send dd to JAGS. She still brought us home a first from Cambridge!
