hello, has anyone ever got a place from waiting list for LEH 11+ please?
How quickly does the WL move?

@lishpishposh , yes of course dd get places from the WL. SW London WL's will all move after 3rd March because Tiffin has such an impact on acceptance rates and even more so this year. You just have to hold firm and if you are offered a WL your decision time line will stretch into March.

QuiteAJourney · 04/02/2025 12:48

@lishpishposh there are indeed movements in the WL albeit not for all schools. Arguably you may expect more movement this year given VAT.
Whilst a straight offer means that you have until deadline day to decide, an offer from WL usually involves quick acceptance ... which can be challenging in some cases (for instance, when people are in two or more WL and they are offfered from the least preferred of them)

Good luck!

QuiteAJourne Thankyou! what happens if we go on a waitlist and have offers from other schools which have deadlines of march 1st to accept? can you get acceptance deposits back if you are later offered a place from WL but have accepted a place elsewhere? We are not waiting for any grammar school results.
Apologies for all the questions!!

Often it’s not just a deposit, they also request half of first term fees… my daughter is also trying for vocational schools and the results are end of march. I have resigned myself to potentially losing a lot of money. That is if we get offer an 11+ place... I wonder if there is a 14 days moratorium. Has anyone been in a similar situation?

Wlondon14 · 04/02/2025 13:23

I remember talk in the past about 14-day cooling off period if deposit is done online. I don’t know anyone who has tested this, but does seem like it should apply.

QuiteAJourney · 04/02/2025 14:34

@lishpishposh we have not been in that situation but I know from close friends that they quickly had to make up their mind on whether to accept an offer from WL and they considered the impact if another (more preferable) WL offer came through. In their case, it would have been loss of deposit and first term fees, but that may differ depending on the school.

Hi, has your daughter got the place ? Which school was your first priority?
My friends daughter got the places in LEH, SPGS and waiting for Tiffins. They won’t be accepting LEH’s offer.
