Has anyone any experience of changing towns and school mid school year? I have rang them but it all has to be done online. Apparently you cannot apply for a school until you have a solicitors letter proving you have exchanged.
Isn't this a bit late? I'm just concerned my son won't have a school.to go too.

You can apply, but have to use your current address. Also if they give you a place you have to start within a couple of weeks.... so if apply to far in advance you have to.commute before you move.

Different authorities have different timescales for taking up a place.

I have never done it but the process seems to be:
Exchange or complete dependent on local rules
Apply, possibly get a place somewhere less desirable, as other schools full
Take that place, whilst keeping name on wait list for more preferred schools
Move schools again to somewhere you like
