Transfer Advice

Hi
My Son joined Year 7 last September at our local school and since October has had nothing but bullying. I’ve been in and out of meetings and last week he was physically assaulted whilst many watched and filmed. I’ve got the police involved and I’m wanting to try a different school that’s not in my catchment.
My Sons mental health has taken a terrible turn, he’s written very worrying things down and saying he’s worthless and has become body conscious and loosing all his confidence. I’m trying to get some private help and we have an appointment at the GP.
My question is do I have to go to our current school for a common transfer form and do they have to request it all or can I do it? Where do I stand with the fact he isn’t fit for school and terrified? Is it best to deregister him completely and start a fresh application when he’s well or will a common transfer support the application a bit better? Can I keep him safe at home with me and educate whilst he’s still registered at the school during the transfer as he’s unfit to attend? I’m in a pickle.

Report as ill due to his mental health struggles because of the situation at school and advise you are planning to move him once a place is available. In my area the Local Authority deal with school admissions / transfers but it might be different in your area. If he is absent from school for more than 15 days he should be referred to the local authority under S19 and they may be able to offer some support etc hopefully the school and LA are supportive.
