Choosing schools

Hi everyone, my daughter received offers from Schs and Sutton but we’re not sure which one to pick. They both look like lovely schools, my daughter is mainly interested in the pastoral system, safety of the school and academics. We like both schools and are very stuck on which one to choose from the both of them! My daughter did the 13 plus, so she is expected to join in year 9 next year. If anyone has some useful advice or experiences with one of the schools, please let me know! Thank you!

NC as this with other posts will be revealing!

I have a daughter at SCHS. It’s a fantastic school and the improvements overseen by the new head (in her second year) have been fantastic with more to come, particularly in the pastoral and safeguarding elements which were sub-par under the last permanent head (they had an interim for a year in between).

DD is really happy there and on track for a string of 8/9s at GCSE. Lots of lovely friends and enjoys the co-curricular offering particularly drama and rowing. We are undecided as to whether she will stay for sixth form simply due to the fact co-ed may be better as a run up to uni, but otherwise we wouldn’t hesitate to keep her there until 18.

@asyabear unfortunately it's not possible to tell from the title of your post which schools you are asking about, so you may not get many replies. It's also useful if you can include full names of schools somewhere in the post as acronyms can be confusing.

I'd suggest you start a new post, mentioning the schools in the title.

Can I ask if you invested in any tuition for the 13 plus? Currently trying to navigate the world of online tuition, but not sure how much value they can add.
