Belmont or St Albans

Can I have opinions please on whether you would choose Belmont in Mill Hill with an academic scholarship or St Albans with no scholarship?

Belmont is a 20 minute drive from us. St Albans boys is a 1hr 15 min coach journey.

DS is bright, charismatic, loves STEM, sporty but not competitively so, more into playing tennis casually, swimming and cycling.

Any opinions very welcome.

The coach sounds like a nightmare. Belmont is a nice school and with a scholarship, even better.

We considered it for DS and DS liked it. The commute was the only thing that put us off (we don’t live as close as you to it).

Having said that, we have neighbours there who love it and they are great kids.

A scholarship is a no-brainer, that lifts so much financial pressure. Does he have to keep his grades at a certain level to maintain it? Or is it his for the duration? What about when he reaches Mill Hill?

Thank you @Nutriiiit sadly the scholarship has no monetary value but it increases exposure to a lot of opportunities

May I ask what was your decision at the end?
