Does every school get moderated in person or just selected schools spot-checked?

Art is not my subject but I gather it is the same as MFL (which is my subject) used to be when teachers marked the speaking assessment – that is, all schools would be moderated. Not all candidates’ work would be called in, though if there was only a small cohort (say under 20) then all of them would be. Otherwise a certain percentage. If there was an issue, the whole cohort’s work could be called in and possibly regraded. We did internal moderation to make sure our marking was on target and in 10 years none of us ever had anything remarked, FWIW.

All schools will be moderated. Moderation involves a selection of pupil work across the top, middle and bottom of the mark ranges.
