My daughter put wrong date (her DOB) in her CEM computerised exam at city of London. Can someone please let us know if that is the matter of concern ?

Potential issues I could see:

  • DOB getting taken into account in scoring so if date entered made her out to be younger than she is it could be construed as attempting to cheat
  • concerns over the ability of a 10yo who doesn't know their DOB
  • concerns you may have sent a ringer instead
Surely the best thing would be to contact the school and let them know (and how it happened)

I'd contact the school - I am sure it was just nerves and I'm sure they will understand. When was her test?

Contact the school ASAP. But, I don't understand how did she enter it wrong and not just fix it while there....how did she only realize after the exam? Of course, I understand it could be nerves etc. But the school might wondering the same thing as me. If the school uses the dates entered to assess their SAS scores, it will have an effect.

Hi, It was yesterday. Kept worrying and today I called the school about possibly entering her date wrong in the exam, and they assured me it’s nothing to worry about. They said it doesn’t matter in the slightest if the date was entered incorrectly, as they use several pieces of data to identify candidates. Phewwww

Excellent news.

@Wsam out of interest - my DD took the city exam yesterday and said that there was no timer on the computer nor a clock in the room. Did your DD find the same?

Wsam · 21/11/2024 15:49

Yes, she mentioned the same thing
