The Misbourne, Great Missenden

What do current or recent parents think of The Misbourne in Great Missenden? My impression is that on the whole it's a good school, I know a few people whose children go there, but when speaking about it, I never hear more that 'it's alright' and several people have told me that the pupils aren't pushed at all. I'm fully aware of the impact the grammars have on other schools round here.
My ds is above average in English but needs support in maths which he finds hard.

I also hear it's very strict but I get the impression from these boards that lots of secondaries are described like that now.

We can afford private and are also considering Claires Court but it's a bit of a journey.
Would love to hear some anonymously honest opinions about either of these schools! Thanks.

The Amersham school has similar stats for its high achievers. Slightly more getting grade 5 and above in maths and English at the Misbourne. It's difficult to say what the higher achieving dc should get as they didn't get 121 in the Bucks test. With appeals they could have been 4-5 marks off 121. However the Amersham School is way better for A levels and is well above average. So I think I would not stay into the 6th form unless I was convinced of improvements.

Following! I have just looked around CC. My other option would be the misbourne.

I really liked CC, if money was no object I'd send my child there.
Lots to think about, and appreciate reading other people's opinions.

Hi all, this still seems to be the most recent thread. We decided CC would be a logistical nightmare, so son will be attending The Misbourne. Would love to hear current feedback… @Cottonblend thanks for starting the convo!

With all the time saved on travel Lazyrivers your son can do more after school activities or even tutoring?
if you check out The main Misbourne school instagram there’s current coverage of the yr 8 battlefields trip, there’s a Misbourne history dept one too.
It’s a personal thing but my son is motivated to work hard and has had some amazing grades this year (as has my other child at a grammar school), there’s little between them and both have peers getting similar high grades
