Hi - are there many girls at the school does anyone know? It seems to be popular but there don’t seem to be many girls in the pictures online?

Does OSH stand for Old Swinford Hospital School? These TLAs can be challenging!

I would give them a quick call to find out.

checked locrating, girls is about 26%

Girls have only been admitted to Y7 from 2021 so some years higher up are still boys only. Also, the split of girls to boys in the first and second year was weighted more heavily to boys as parents were put off by not wanting their daughters to be the guinea pigs.

i would ask the school what the current Y7 split is as it would paint a clearer picture

According to the school's most recent Ofsted report, which dates from the 2021/2022 academic year, the first mixed intake in September 2021 was 80 boys, 60 girls.

Do you know if OSH will send the offer earlier than 1st March?

Wellthisisshitty · 12/02/2025 22:02

No, you'll get the offer on Monday, March 3rd.

Did your child do the academic assessment for flexi boarding?

My dd didn't did, they offer 24 places and she came 23rd in the assessment, so she would definitely be offered a place.

However, she also passed the 11+, so we put Wolverhampton girls grammar as first choice on the LA form and Osh second. Only becuase I'd rather not pay the 6k a year for Osh if she can go to the grammar for free.

I do love Osh though, we thought it was fantastic and dd did so well on the entrance test. But 6k a year would mean me having to go back to work and we have a younger child.

So I am hoping Wolverhampton offer.

Thanks so much. That’s really helpful. So I will wait until 3rd March.
