APS / Fortismere / Archer Academy - also streaming

We live in catchment for one of these schools, the other two are on either side and kind of wild cards that we probably won’t get into.

But - all things being equal - which is “best”?

Also - do these schools stream by academic ability? If so, how do they work out how to stream children? Via their year 6 SATS?

I only know about streaming at APS. They only stream for maths in year 7, all other subjects are mixed ability classes. I don't think they completely rely on year 6 stats. From memory (my DD is in sixth form there now so things could have changed) they re-assessed them in the first year 7 term. I do remember my DD moving up sets in Maths after the first half term.

I would suggest that you visit all the schools and see which one your child likes and suits them best.

APS is strict on uniform and behaviour, but it creates a great learning environment that suited and worked very well for my SEN DS and for my non-SEN DD.

Can't imagine a child enjoying APS and Fortismere, they're like chalk and cheese! APS and Archer are similar. All good schools.
