Kent test appeal/SEN

Hi there (and TIA for reading)

Grateful for any views/experiences on Kent test parents appeal. Child has special needs, the school applied for special arrangements during the test - in light with what is usually in place at school - but everything was refused. Passed all the three subjects (missed on the global mark by 3 marks).

The headteacher appealed as he strongly feels that grammar school would be best. Headteacher’s appeal rejected….School strongly believes that we should be appealing (as parents) as they think grammar would be best.

Anyone had a similar experience? What did you do and how did it go?

Thanks in advance!

In my experience, non-qualification appeals, with Head Teacher support are very often successful for under subscribed grammars.

I live in East Kent, where there are typically more grammar places than children who pass.

I suspect a lot will depend on where you live/which grammar school you're appealing for.
