Aptitude test allocation

If say 10 places are allocated on aptitude, does the other admissions criteria affect who those places go to? For eg, if the top 10 highest children get aptitude places, if one of those children live next door to the school and would have got in anyway regardless of the aptitude test, would they get a place based on the normal criteria and then their aptitude place go to student number 11 in the list?Hope this makes sense! TIA

You need to read the admission info carefully. It will tell you what order the criteria is used. It’s likely distance is the last criteria, so the 10 places will be allocated, and then they will allocate places on distance afterwards.

Check what the criteria state

At the school I know, those scoring aptitude places get them regardless of where they live (distance only coming in to it on the tie-break score)

Which makes sense to me, because otherwise it would mean in effect that they would only be giving aptitude places to those outside the local admissions footprint, rather than those with the highest aptitude.
